Information Sharing Schemes
The Family Violence Information Sharing Scheme and Child Information Sharing Schemes allows prescribed organisations to share information to assess and manage family violence risk and to promote the wellbeing and safety of children.
Prescribed organisations, called information sharing entities (ISEs), include but are not limited to:
- Children’s Court of Victoria
- Corrections Victoria
- Department of Health and Human Services – Child Protection
- Magistrates’ Court of Victoria
- Victoria Police
When a request is made, an ISE may share information for family violence risk assessment and protection purposes.
See the Victorian Government website for more information about the Family Violence Information Sharing Scheme.
Making a request
Information Sharing Entities (ISEs) can now request information under the Family Violence Information Sharing Scheme and Child Information Sharing Scheme from the Magistrate’s Court and Children’s Court via the Courts Information Sharing (CIS) Portal.
The CIS portal is your secure, online platform to request, track and access information sharing requests.
Individual users will need to register with the portal before they start making requests. Registration takes a few minutes, and you will need to have access to your organisational email and a mobile phone.
User Guides
A range of support materials have been developed to assist your use of the CIS Portal.
